Greater Manchester Business Receives BEF Funding to Transform Women's Hair Loss Journeys
Xtra9ce Wigs Secures a £25,000 Start Up Loan from BEF.
A premier wig production company located in Wigan, is thrilled to announce the successful acquisition of a £20,000 Start Up Loan. This funding injection, secured through Business Enterprise Fund (BEF), marks a significant milestone for the business, propelling it to new heights in the Hair and Beauty sector.
Founded in June 2022 by Esther Jaskolski, a Black woman entrepreneur passionate about making a positive impact, Xtra9ce Wigs and Hair Pieces specialises in crafting custom-made human hair wigs, human hair toppers, and hair extensions. The focus is on creating bespoke solutions for women experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia, ageing, and other illnesses.
Xtra9ce Wigs and Hair Pieces offers a customer experience that is like purchasing a bespoke suit. The journey begins with a face-to-face consultation, guiding customers through the selection process. Exceptional customer service is then seamlessly blended with top-notch products. Each wig is then meticulously handcrafted, culminating in a fitting session for the perfect, confidence-boosting result.
Xtra9ce Wigs and Hair Pieces is more than a business for me. It's a mission to empower and restore confidence in women. Every custom creation tells a unique story of resilience and beauty.

Esther’s own story is one of resilience. Confident in herself and her business yet unable to secure the funding she needed from high street lenders; Esther approached BEF in December 2023 to secure a loan. Supported by Tim Burt, the funds were drawn down in January 2024.
The £20,000 Start Up Loan serves a multifaceted purpose. Xtra9ce Wigs and Hair Pieces plans to buy hair in bulk, accelerating the delivery of finished goods and reducing overheads. Additionally, the funds will be allocated to move to a larger premises and purchase equipment to enhance production capacity. The loan will also help the business increase its marketing efforts.
This strategic move is expected to create one new job and safeguard three existing positions, underlining Xtra9ce Wigs and Hair Pieces’ commitment to both employment opportunities and the growth of the Hair and Beauty sector in Wigan.
The Start-Up Loan from BEF has been transformative. It has enabled us to source premium materials, expand our production capabilities, and reach more women seeking confidence and beauty in every strand. This support is not just financial; it's a vote of confidence in our mission, and we are excited to see how it propels us forward.
